Aloha Friday

It's Aloha Friday over at An Island Life today. This is the first time I've ever participated, but it's always fun to find a new blog and see what everyone in blogland is up to.

This one is very simple. All I have to do is ask any random question, and if you'd be so kind, would you please answer by leaving a comment here... at the end of this post? My question is:

What is your favorite hobby?
My answer is painting pottery. Months ago my sister introduced me to a ceramics studio over in the next town, and I was hooked. There is something therapeutic about coming up with a design and then painting it on that plain, unfinished piece of pottery. I would never consider myself to be artistic, but there's something about creating on pottery that gets those "juices" flowing. When you return to pick it up a week later, after it's been fired in the kiln, you see this amazing piece of art that you created. It's so fun!

I highly recommend this hobby. If you'd like to find a studio in your area, they have them all over the country. Check out this link to find one.

  1. This is a tough one for me. I'm so busy, I don't often have time for leisurely activities! I used to love stamping and crocheting. I guess my newest hobby is blogging. It's pretty addictive!

  2. does curling up on the couch with a good movie or a magazine count as a hobby? If that don't count then I like to decorate the front door for the holidays......thats a hobby right?

  3. What a great hobby!

Well, blogging has become my latest addiction. I don't have much time to do much outside of the kids; although I do love a good book or movie. I like going to the gym, and I love to travel, which, uh, doesn't happen as much as I'd like.

  4. welcome to aloha friday!

blogging right now is my favorite hobby ...

  5. Is Blogging a hobby? How about shopping? No? Ummmm . . . I guess it would have to be sewing.

  6. hmmm, hard one - i really like blogging, and i like crocheting too, but i'd say my favorite hobby would be making wreaths and ribbon angels.

Thanks for dropping by my blog. I love comments! I'll reply to you here or in an email, unless you have your email option turned off.
